During the weekend of October 14 and 15, 2017, the races of the GT4 European Series South were scheduled at the French track of Paul Ricard. A track that is famous venue in the world of racing, hosting many spectacular events.
Both free practice sessions went pretty well for the McLaren 570S GT4 of both; Equipe Verschuur and Las Moras Racing Team by Equipe Verschuur. It would be a good sign for both qualifying sessions.
That the results during free practice would give a reliable view of the display of strength was confirmed by the qualifying sessions. The car of Las Moras Racing took a pole position during the first qualifying, which meant the car would start the first race from P1, and also a second qualifying position in the second qualifying session to start the second race of the weekend from the second starting position. The car of Equipe Verschuur was able to get a fifth time in the first qualifying practice, but unfortunately had some bad luck and did not set a time during the second qualifying session.
The first race of the weekend confirmed the pace of both cars again. Steady in the lead during the whole race, it would mean a victory for the car of Las Moras Racing Team by Equipe Verschuur. The disaster of the white McLaren of Equipe Verschuur was there again. While fighting for a podium position, they were hit and the car had too much damage to continue the race. What could have been a double podium for the team, was changed in only a great win.
The second race of the weekend had begun with a disappointment, because the car of Equipe Verschuur was unable to compete. Luckily enough, things would be set straight by the car of Las Moras Racing Team. From a second starting position, still on the front row though, the drivers were able to get to the front and leading position quite soon. Also after the mandatory driver change, the car kept the lead and would make it a double victory by winning also the second race of the weekend.
